Two weeks of stressful mock exams, were immediately acceded by a week of Chinese New Year holidays. I left on friday night and arrived in Melbourne saturday late morning. The main aim of the trip was to train for my upcoming Junior World Championships the following month. Brita came up to Melbourne two days before me and stayed in a hostel before moving in at Omi’s place when I arrived. It was nice to have someone there to force me to do some proper holidaying and relaxing away from all the intense training.
I was up at 5am every morning to be at the rink at 5.50am to put on the matts, warm up and then get on the ice at 6.30. We then trained until 8am. We returned in the afternoon at 3.30pm for gym or off ice work. In between training sessions, I went to St Kilda beach, shopping at Chadstone, Chapel St and Flinders St. For the first time ever, I did a little sightseeing and went to the Eureka tower to get an overview of the whole of Melbourne and went on The Edge. I also went to the Chinese New Year festival at Crowne with my twin cousins – who always remind me to take pleasure in the simple things and how easy it is to be happy.
Here is a picture collage of my week there – for the first time, I pulled myself away from the camera and decided to spend it living in the moment instead of capturing it. Nevertheless, here it is -

First day back at school and unlike the rest of the world, I actually feel wide awake and ready to work. This is because with the jet lag + not waking up at 5am in the morning makes it feel like I just woke up in the afternoon.
On the other hand, one world lit redraft done, one more to go. Sadly, I’ve only finished the easier one… this means that it’s going to be a long day ahead.
